The Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur has long been one of Bangladesh’s premier home venues. While international matches now occur in other cities as well, for many years most fixtures were hosted at Mirpur. Thanks to this consistency, Bangladesh holds the record for the most T20 International wins at a single venue. Now, Afghanistan has joined this elite list with a remarkable feat.
Afghanistan’s recent achievement came at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, where they secured their 20th T20I win in just 29 matches, making them the second full-member nation in the world to achieve 20 wins at a single venue in T20 cricket.
The ongoing tri-series involves Pakistan, UAE, and Afghanistan. Yesterday (Friday), Afghanistan batted first against the UAE and scored 170/4 in 20 overs.
