Anushka Sharma and Priyanka Chopra’s Disagreement over an Actor

The question of whether genuine friendships can exist between leading actresses often makes headlines. It is frequently claimed that tensions increase when they work together on the same project. A well-known example involves two of Bollywood’s most popular stars, Anushka Sharma and Priyanka Chopra, who reportedly experienced such a moment during the filming of Zoya Akhtar’s movie Dil Dhadakne Do.

During shooting, a disagreement arose between the two actresses, which escalated into an argument. At the centre of their clash was actor Darshan Kumar.

Anushka and Priyanka held very different views about Darshan based on their individual professional experiences:

Darshan himself later explained the incident in an interview. According to him: “During the shooting of Dil Dhadakne Do, they were discussing me. Priyanka said I am a capable actor and a good human being. At that very moment, Anushka commented that she had never met anyone more arrogant.”

Darshan added context by pointing out that his behaviour during NH10 was influenced entirely by the demands of his role:

• To make his negative character realistic, he deliberately kept distance from Anushka on set.
• He avoided friendly interactions and did not behave warmly, which might have led Anushka to perceive him as arrogant.

At present, Darshan Kumar is busy with his latest film The Bengal Files, continuing to strengthen his career and reputation in the industry.
