A total of 1,162 candidates have collected nomination papers for the Chittagong University Central Students’ Union (ChakSU) and Hall Union elections. Among them, 528 candidates are contesting for the central union, while 634 candidates are seeking positions in the hall unions.
This information was confirmed on Wednesday, 17 September 2025, by the Member Secretary of the ChakSU Election Commission, Professor Dr K.M. Ariful Haque Siddique.
Following student requests, Chief Election Commissioner Professor Dr Monir Uddin announced an extension for both the collection and submission of nomination papers.
Professor Dr Monir Uddin explained that the extension was intended to ensure voluntary participation and to accommodate all students. He emphasised that no further changes to the schedule will be made.
