Alleged Cocktail Attack Targeting National Chhatra Shakti Chief Abu Baker

Abu Baker Majumdar, chief of the National Chhatra Shakti, the student wing of the National Citizens Party (NCP), has reportedly been targeted in a cocktail attack at Intercontinental Mor in Dhaka.

He shared the incident on his Facebook page on Saturday (October 25), stating, “A short while ago, around 8:23/24 PM, a cocktail was thrown in front of my bike at Intercontinental Mor. I was on my way to an organizational meeting at Rupayan Tower. I have made many political enemies over time. Alhamdulillah, I am still safe. Please keep me in your prayers.”

It is noted that in February, former coordinators of the anti-discrimination movement held a press conference in front of Madhur Canteen at Dhaka University to launch a student organization named Bangladesh Ganotantrik Chhatra Shongshad (BAGSHAS). Last Thursday, BAGSHAS was dissolved and rebranded as National Chhatra Shakti, becoming the student wing of the NCP. Abu Baker Majumdar has served as its chief since its inception.
