Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad has announced an enhancement to its motor personal accident coverage, offering greater protection for both motorcyclists and car drivers across Malaysia. The move forms part of the company’s ongoing efforts to provide accessible, comprehensive insurance solutions to road users.
From 3 March to 31 December 2026, customers who purchase or renew an Allianz Motorcycle Plus policy—whether comprehensive or third-party—will automatically receive a complimentary increase in personal accident coverage. The coverage rises from the standard MYR10,000 ($2,500) to MYR25,000 ($6,300) at no additional cost. The policy covers death or permanent disability resulting from road accidents and applies to motorcycles with an engine capacity of up to 250cc or electric bikes of up to 12,000 watts.
For car drivers, Allianz offers its Drive Guard coverage at a nominal fee of MYR5 ($1.28) per year, valid until the end of 2026. This plan provides coverage of up to MYR50,000 ($12,700) for death or permanent disability caused by road accidents. Additionally, the scheme offers a hospital income benefit of MYR50 ($12.70) per day for up to 60 days, medical expense reimbursement of MYR2,000, and a bereavement allowance of MYR2,500.
These initiatives underscore Allianz Malaysia’s commitment to ensuring that both two-wheelers and four-wheelers have access to robust and affordable protection. Speaking on the announcement, Sean Wang, CEO of Allianz General, said,
