In the wake of ongoing protests within the National Board of Revenue (NBR), yet another official has been sent into compulsory retirement. The latest to face such action is Lokman Ahmed, a Grade-10 Tax Inspector at Tax Zone-2, Dhaka.
This decision was made official through a gazette notification signed by NBR Chairman Md Abdur Rahman Khan on Sunday, 3 August.

However, NBR sources revealed that he was previously a leading figure in the recent staff movement within the board. Multiple other officials involved in this movement have either been suspended or compulsorily retired in recent weeks.
