The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has reduced the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) for the month of September. Under the newly announced tariff structure, the benchmark 12 kg LPG cylinder will now retail at Tk 1,585, down by Tk 13 from the previous price of Tk 1,598.
The regulatory authority announced the revised rates during a press briefing on Wednesday (2 September). Officials confirmed that the updated prices take effect immediately from 6:00 pm on Wednesday evening and will remain in force until further notice.
Alongside the standard household 12 kg container, BERC updated consumer pricing across all cylinder sizes to reflect fluctuations in the international market. Retail prices for private sector LPG cylinders of varying capacities have been fixed as follows:

BERC recalculates monthly retail tariffs for LPG and auto gas by evaluating international benchmark prices—primarily Saudi Aramco’s Contract Price (CP)—alongside freight charges, currency exchange rates, and local distribution margins. The adjustment provides minor financial relief to domestic households and commercial entities relying on bottled gas amidst broader economic pressures and living cost considerations.
