Following the public exposure of the gambling activity online, local merchants and shopkeepers operating within Kandania Bazar disclosed that the illicit gambling den has been functioning continuously for an extended duration. Kandania Bazar holds a well-established reputation as a notable commercial hub due to its geographic position on the border intersecting the three sub-districts of Fulbaria, Trishal, and Bhaluka within the Mymensingh District.

However, business owners have expressed growing anxieties regarding a severe deterioration in the market’s security and social environment over the past twelve months. Local sources report that the market area has increasingly become a nexus for illegal activities, explicitly citing the illicit trade and consumption of methamphetamine tablets (locally known as Yaba), counterfeit foreign liquor, and organized gambling.

According to reports from traders, the degradation of the local environment has directly impacted commercial footfall. The number of consumers visiting the market during regular operating hours has noticeably declined. Furthermore, due to safety apprehensions, the patrons who do visit the area now systematically evacuate the market premises well before nightfall.

Formal allegations raised by local residents indicate that the illegal gambling ring operates on a nightly basis, situated specifically towards the southern periphery of Kandania Bazar under the direct leadership and patronage of the BNP official.
