Banking Services Integrated with BIIDA OSS Platform

Dhaka Bank PLC has officially partnered with the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIIDA) to integrate its banking services into BIIDA’s “One-Stop Service (OSS)” portal, following the signing of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement, formalised on 19 January 2025 at BIIDA’s conference hall in Agargaon, Dhaka, represents a pivotal step in streamlining investment procedures and facilitating ease of doing business in Bangladesh.

The MoU was signed by Mr Osman Ershad Foiz, Managing Director of Dhaka Bank, and Air Commodore (Retd.) Md. Shaharul Huda, Executive Member of BIIDA. The partnership enables both domestic and foreign investors to open bank accounts directly through the OSS portal, eliminating the need for multiple physical visits. Technically, the collaboration establishes a secure server-to-server connection, ensuring fast, reliable, and transparent data exchange between the two institutions.

At the ceremony, Mr Foiz remarked, “We extend our gratitude to BIIDA for launching this visionary OSS platform. By digitising business registration and investment procedures, the portal significantly enhances Bangladesh’s attractiveness to foreign investors. Leveraging over three decades of corporate banking experience, Dhaka Bank is committed to delivering efficient, dependable, and personalised financial services through this integrated digital platform.”

The event was graced by Mr Ashik Mahmud bin Harun, Executive Chairman of BIIDA and a Secretary-ranked official, as the Chief Guest. Representing Dhaka Bank were Deputy Managing Director Mr Aklakur Rahman and other senior executives. BIIDA’s Director General, Mr Jibon Krishna Saha, presented a comprehensive overview of the OSS initiatives, while the ceremony was hosted by Deputy Director Abu Mohammad Nurul Hayat Totul.

This collaboration forms a central part of BIIDA’s long-term strategy to establish a unified digital ecosystem for investors. For Dhaka Bank, the partnership reinforces its ongoing commitment to supporting Bangladesh’s digital transformation and investment-friendly policies, while enhancing investor engagement nationwide.
