According to a press release issued on Wednesday (26 November) by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services, three more people have died of dengue in the past 24 hours, while 615 others have been admitted to hospital.
The press release stated that among the 615 newly admitted patients, 77 were from Barishal Division, 85 from Chattogram Division, 128 from Dhaka Division (outside city corporations), 126 from Dhaka North City, 103 from Dhaka South City, 37 from Khulna Division (outside city corporations), 34 from Mymensingh Division, 22 from Rajshahi Division and 6 from Sylhet Division.
Across the country, 682 dengue patients have been discharged from hospital in the past day, bringing the total number of recoveries this year to 89,631.
From January 2024 to date, a total of 92,217 patients have been admitted to hospital, with 370 deaths reported.
Notably, from January to 31 December 2024, a total of 101,214 dengue patients were hospitalised and 575 died. In comparison, between 1 January and 31 December 2023, dengue claimed 1,705 lives and 321,179 people were admitted to hospital.
