Elderly Woman Dies After Falling from Roof in Dhaka

In Kamrangirchar, Dhaka, an elderly woman fell from the roof of her home while sunbathing and died. She passed away in the One-Stop Emergency Centre at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Sunday (30 November) afternoon while undergoing treatment.

The deceased has been identified as Shahanara Begum (70). She was a resident of house number seven in lane eight of Alinagar. The accident occurred earlier in the morning.

Shahanara’s daughter, Shilpi Begum, said her mother went to the roof of their three-storey house after taking a morning bath to sunbathe. There, she accidentally fell from the roof. She was initially treated at home before being taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital at around 1 pm. Despite treatment, she passed away at 3:30 pm.

Inspector Md. Faruk, in charge of the hospital police post, confirmed the death and stated that the body was subsequently taken to the emergency department morgue. The relevant police station has been informed of the incident.
