The named accused include 55-year-old Nasrul Hamid Bipu and 52-year-old Shaheen Ahmed, who also served as president of the South Keraniganj unit of the Awami League. Other key figures cited in the first information report (FIR) are Al Hasan Tanmoy, 30, former vice-president of South Keraniganj Chhatra League; Md Rifat Hossain Shobhon, 31, a Volunteer League activist; Chhatra League worker Md Rahat, 21; Md Jorip alias Kala Jorip, 35; Rana Molla, 45; Swapnil Hasan; Kajol; Monir Hossain; Md Yamin, 40; and Shawon Hossain, 32.

According to the police report, the first incident occurred on 19 September at approximately 9:45 pm, when miscreants set fire to an abandoned lorry parked along the service lane of the Dhaka-Mawa Highway near the entrance to the Ikuria Paschimpara Mosque road. The sudden blaze created widespread panic among local residents and commuters. Roughly ten minutes later, two crude bombs were detonated underneath the Abdullahpur flyover on the Munshiganj-bound service lane.

Upon receiving reports of the explosions, police patrols dispatched to the scenes observed suspects fleeing into nearby alleyways under the cover of darkness. Officers immediately launched search operations across surrounding neighbourhoods to trace the perpetrators. Law enforcement agencies assert that the suspects conspired to cause public alarm, damage property, and deteriorate the local law and order situation.

In a related development on 20 September at around 9:00 pm, South Keraniganj police detained four individuals, including three women, near the South Town residential area in Abdullahpur on suspicion of attempting further sabotage. Those taken into custody include Parul Begum, president of the Kamrangirchar unit of Jubo Mahila League, and Hasina Sheikh, president of the Kadamtali unit, along with an associate identified as Nurjahan. Inspector (Investigation) Md Asgar Hossain confirmed that formal legal proceedings are underway, with multiple police teams deployed to arrest the remaining suspects.
