Fire at Shahjalal Airport Cargo Complex Caused by Electrical Short Circuit

Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has received the report on the fire incident at the cargo complex of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. He received the report on Tuesday (25 November).

Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam stated that preliminary investigations indicate the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit.

At a press conference held at the Foreign Service Academy today, he said, “The report provides detailed information on how the fire occurred at the cargo complex and the extent of the damage.”

The incident occurred at the airport’s import cargo complex on 18 October around noon. The fire burned for nearly 17 hours, destroying a large portion of the imported goods.
