Legendary Bangladeshi rock ensemble Warfaze is set to reach its 42nd anniversary on 6 June. Founded in the 1980s, the heavy metal pioneers have spent over four decades at the forefront of the country’s mainstream music industry. To celebrate the milestone, the band has announced the release of two new studio tracks alongside a massive solo tribute concert scheduled for early July.
Warfaze has opted not to host a public festival on the exact date of their anniversary; instead, the band will perform at a pre-booked private concert within the capital. Group leader and drummer Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu noted that the scheduling was a happy coincidence, and the musicians plan to mark the date with an informal cake-cutting ceremony on stage.
However, the group’s primary focus remains on their upcoming studio output, with two separate tracks scheduled for release in June. The first is a completely modernized, re-arranged studio version of Kromosho, a track that originally debuted on their 1996 album Jibon Dhara. The second project is the official title song for an upcoming feature film. Due to strict corporate guidelines enforced by the movie’s production house, the definitive details of the track remain confidential until a formal announcement is made.
On 2 July, Warfaze will take the stage at the China–Bangladesh Friendship Conference Centre in Dhaka for a special solo show titled “Playlist: Tribute to Originals”. Jointly curated by event management firms Brandmyth and Mars & Co., the performance will blend the band’s iconic rock anthems with a dedicated tribute to the “King of Pop”, Michael Jackson.
The core logistical details for the upcoming summer event are outlined in the table below:

According to the event organizers, the unique cross-genre concept was inspired by recent milestones for both names. Michael Jackson’s catalog experienced a global resurgence on the music charts following the international theatrical release of his film biopic this April. Concurrently, Warfaze is experiencing an exceptional peak in their career, celebrating over four decades of influence and recently receiving the prestigious Ekushey Padak—the nation’s second-highest civilian award—for their contributions to Bangladeshi music.
Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu confirmed that the band has entered intensive rehearsals to perfect the 10 to 12 Michael Jackson tracks chosen for the night. To properly execute the complex vocal layers of the pop arrangements, Warfaze will be joined on stage by several invited guest vocalists.
The current active seven-member line-up of Warfaze scheduled for the upcoming studio releases and the July concert comprises:
Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu – Band Leader and Drums
Ibrahim Ahmed Kamal – Lead Guitar
Palash Noor – Lead Vocals
Naim Haque Roger – Bass Guitar
Shams – Keyboards
Samir Hafiz – Lead Guitar
