Moutushi Khan’s musical journey began in early childhood when she first trained at the Bulbul Lalitakala Academy (BAFA), laying the groundwork for her artistic development. She later advanced her studies in classical music under the guidance of Ustad Sanjib De. Nearly six years of rigorous training in classical discipline provided her voice with a strong technical foundation, shaping her refined vocal delivery and musical sensibility.
Although she officially entered the professional music industry in 2014, it was in 2017 that Moutushi first gained widespread recognition. Her breakthrough came with the duet song “Brishti Chhuye”, performed alongside popular singer Tahsan. Composed and arranged by Sajid Sarkar, the song quickly resonated with listeners and secured a place among GP Music’s Top 20 tracks for two consecutive years, marking a turning point in her career.
Following the success of “Brishti Chhuye”, she collaborated further with Sajid Sarkar on several drama soundtrack songs. Among these, “Parapar” from the television drama Utsorgo received notable appreciation from audiences. She subsequently expanded her repertoire through collaborations with Tanzib Sarowar on tracks such as “Obelay” and “Mon Priya”, both of which strengthened her presence in the contemporary music scene. Additionally, she contributed as a guest vocalist in Minar Rahman’s “Barabari”, further broadening her artistic exposure.
A defining milestone in her career came through her association with composer and musician Habib Wahid. In 2022, Moutushi was invited to his studio for a vocal test session. During the audition, she performed several personal selections, including a Hindi composition by Bombay Jayashri, which deeply impressed Habib Wahid. He then asked her to perform one of his own compositions, after which he expressed his appreciation and remarked that they had finally found their first song together. This collaboration resulted in the duet “Tomaroi Chhoate”, marking a significant new chapter in her career.
Subsequently, the duo released additional tracks including “Kotha Achho Priyo” and “Tui Chhara Eka”. Moutushi also lent her voice to several commercial jingles under Habib Wahid’s musical direction. More collaborative releases between the two artists are anticipated in the future.
In recent times, Moutushi has focused extensively on her personal YouTube channel. Her latest release, “Bhinno Tumi”, was published earlier this month. At the beginning of the year, she released “Ontorjami”, while the closing months of the previous year saw the release of “Pure Jay Hridoy”, a collaboration with Mahtim Shakib.
