Islamic preacher Abu Taha Mohammad Adnan has been accused of physical and psychological abuse by his wife, Sabikun Nahar. She made these explosive allegations during a live talk show on a news channel on Wednesday night, 15 October.
Speaking on air, Sabikun Nahar claimed that her husband, Abu Taha, has been mentally unstable, a fact he allegedly admitted to her himself. “He physically assaulted me repeatedly without reason, calling it discipline,” she said. “He beat me countless times, and even when I fell ill from his abuse, he never cared or checked on me.”
She further alleged that the preacher beat her every two days and smashed household items in fits of rage. “There are many proofs of the vandalism at home,” she added, “but he lies about it and denies everything in front of others.”
Sabikun Nahar also expressed her deep disappointment, saying, “I used to feed him even when I went without food myself. Yet, he never showed an ounce of gratitude. Even after all the efforts we made to rescue him when he went missing, he never thanked anyone.”
Breaking down during the interview, she said, “My once peaceful family has been destroyed. He has lost his sanity. Now, to save himself, he’s saying whatever he wants. Meanwhile, his followers are verbally abusing me online.”
