Bollywood actress Karishma Kapoor’s children have had their claims dismissed as “drama” by the Delhi High Court in a legal dispute surrounding the estate of her late ex-husband, Sanjay Kapoor.
Sanjay Kapoor, who tragically passed away on 12 June while playing polo in London after suffering a heart attack caused by a bee sting, left behind a substantial estate. Following his sudden death, legal complications have arisen over his assets, particularly involving his second wife, Priya Kapoor, and Karishma’s two children, Kian and Samaira.
As part of the ongoing inheritance dispute, Karishma’s children recently approached the Delhi High Court with fresh allegations, claiming that their college fees for two months had not been paid while studying in the United States. Their lawyer, Mahesh Jethmalani, presented the case before the bench.
However, the court, presided over by Justice Jyoti Singh, dismissed the claims outright. “We are not willing to waste even 30 seconds on this matter. This issue should never have been brought before the court. We will not entertain such theatrics,” the bench declared. Rajeev Nayar, representing Priya Kapoor, refuted the claims, confirming that the fees had already been paid and describing the allegations as completely baseless.
The dispute highlights ongoing tensions within the Kapoor family, which have been under public scrutiny since Sanjay Kapoor’s sudden demise in London. Legal delays even postponed the repatriation of his body to Delhi due to procedural complexities. With the estate at the centre of the conflict, the battle over inheritance between Sanjay’s widow and his children from his first marriage shows no sign of resolution in the immediate future.
