Life-Term Convict Alam Arrested as Active Member of ‘Molom Party’

RAB-8 has arrested a fugitive member of the so-called ‘Molom Party’ who had been sentenced to life imprisonment in a murder case in Barishal.

On Sunday (23 November) at around 8:30 pm, RAB-3 assisted in arresting Md Asaduzzaman Alam from the Puranapaltan area of the capital.

The arrested individual is the son of the late Mofizur Rahman Sheikh from Matha Bera in Pirojpur.

This information was confirmed in a press release by Amit Hasan, Senior Assistant Director of RAB-8 Barishal.

Pirojpur Police Station Sub-Inspector Anichur Rahman stated that Asaduzzaman Alam is accused in four cases across different districts, including Pirojpur. In a murder case committed in 2010 in Jhenaidah, a court in 2023 sentenced him to life imprisonment. Another murder case against him is ongoing in Pirojpur. He is an active member of the ‘Molom Party’, and two additional cases have been filed against him related to such criminal activities.

He was produced before the Pirojpur court on Monday afternoon, where the judge ordered that he be sent to jail.
