Lioner Launches Zurich Office in First Western Expansion

International wealth, trust and family office advisory firm Lioner International Group Limited has established a new corporate base in Zurich, Switzerland. The opening marks the consortium’s inaugural expansion outside the Asian market and coincides with the fifth anniversary of the company’s founding.

Operating from the new Swiss location, the firm intends to provide support to high-net-worth families navigating cross-border estate planning, wealth preservation and structures for family governance. The expansion into Zurich positions the company within a major global financial hub, which the firm’s leadership states aligns with their broader commercial strategy to deliver protection, legacy and succession planning services on an international scale.

Executive Leadership and Strategic Framework

Tony Chan, Founder of Lioner, confirmed that the choice of Switzerland as the first location outside Asia is intended to leverage Zurich’s established status as an international financial centre. To manage the Swiss operations, the firm has appointed Giorgio Jeni to the role of Partner and Head of Switzerland.

Jeni joins the consortium with 27 years of professional experience within the high-net-worth life insurance and wealth management industries. His prior career includes senior executive positions at several global financial institutions, namely HSBC, UBS, Julius Baer and Credit Suisse.

In his new role, Jeni is tasked with developing close operational links with Swiss private banks, domestic family offices and local wealth managers. The primary focus of the Zurich office will be serving internationally mobile high-net-worth clients, with a particular emphasis on managing those originating from or holding assets within Asia.

Regional Appointments and Operational Support

To support Jeni in establishing and running the Swiss operations, Lioner has made two additional senior appointments to the Zurich team. Yaru Gao has been named Senior Consultant, and Maurice Ho has been appointed Consultant. Both professionals will report directly to Jeni within the institutional hierarchy.

• Yaru Gao (Senior Consultant): Brings 16 years of corporate banking experience drawn from her tenure at China Construction Bank. Her career spans multiple jurisdictions, with previous roles based in Zurich, Hong Kong and mainland China.

• Maurice Ho (Consultant): Possesses more than 20 years of specialised experience in the deployment of insurance solutions and regulatory compliance. His expertise covers Hong Kong, the Greater China region and various international financial markets.

Global Footprint Expansion

The launch of the Zurich hub alters the geographical structure of the firm, connecting its established Asian network directly to continental Europe. With this expansion, Lioner International Group Limited now operates a total of four commercial offices globally. The firm’s operational network comprises offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Beijing and Switzerland.

The establishment of the Zurich entity is designed to facilitate cross-border capital flows and legal planning between Asia and Europe. By placing experienced practitioners with specific expertise in mainland China, Hong Kong and broader international regulations directly into the Swiss wealth management ecosystem, the firm aims to bridge the gap between Asian wealth generation and traditional European private banking structures. The permanent presence in Zurich ensures the company can provide real-time advisory services to mobile clients requiring dual-jurisdiction governance and asset protection.
