Mercantile Bank PLC has enhanced its domestic network through the simultaneous inauguration of four new sub-branches. The strategic rollout is designed to bring streamlined, contemporary banking services closer to consumer bases in urban, semi-urban, and rural areas.
An official press statement confirmed that the newly commissioned facilities are now open for public business following a unified launch event where the bank’s Managing Director, Mati Ul Hasan, served as the chief guest.
The inauguration proceedings commenced with an introductory address by Deputy Managing Director Shamim Ahmed, who also serves as the Head of Risk Management Division and DCRO. This was followed by an expression of gratitude from Deputy Managing Director Ashim Kumar Saha, who extended the formal vote of thanks.
The launch event brought together a large contingent of the bank’s senior leadership executive committee, alongside external community stakeholders:
Executive Leadership: Deputy Managing Directors Md. Zakir Hossain, Dr Md. Zahid Hossain, and Tapash Chandra Paul, PhD.
Senior Management: Senior Executive Vice Presidents Mohammad Iqbal Rezwan and Md. Abdul Halim, along with Head of Main Branch Md. Abdul Awal.
Operational Oversight: Head of Branches Division Md. Aliullah, alongside all respective controlling branch managers and sub-branch in-charges.
Community Presence: Local trade representatives, distinguished citizens, media personnel, and bank staff.
Reflecting on the bank’s market presence, Managing Director Mati Ul Hasan stated that having completed 27 years of active operations, the financial institution remains steadfast in its mission to deliver premier banking products nationwide. He pointed out that the addition of these four units expands the bank’s sub-branch framework to 52 operational locations.
