Midland Bank PLC has formalised a Memorandum of Understanding with Axentec PLC, a subsidiary of Robi Axiata, to implement advanced cloud computing solutions for its data centre management and core computing operations.
The MoU was signed at Midland Bank’s head office in Gulshan-2, Dhaka, as stated in an official press release. The agreement was signed by Imtiaz U Ahmed, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Midland Bank, and Md. Adil Hossain Noble, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Axentec PLC, representing their respective organisations.
Axentec has recently launched a locally hosted Tier-4 cloud platform, known as “Axentec Cloud”. A Tier-4 classification indicates the highest standard of data centre reliability and resilience, incorporating fully redundant systems designed to ensure continuous operation and minimise downtime risk. The platform is positioned as part of Bangladesh’s evolving digital infrastructure landscape, particularly in enterprise-grade cloud services hosted within the country.
Under the agreement, Midland Bank will utilise Axentec’s cloud platform to enhance its computing capacity, data centre management, and overall IT infrastructure performance. The bank aims to improve operational efficiency, strengthen data security, and increase scalability to support its expanding digital banking services.
Axentec will provide cloud infrastructure and related computing services to support the bank’s operational requirements. The arrangement is intended to assist Midland Bank in advancing its digital transformation strategy and improving service delivery to customers through more resilient and scalable technological systems.

Senior officials from both organisations were present at the signing ceremony. These included Md. Nazmul Huda Sarkar, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Technology Officer of Midland Bank PLC, and Istiaque Ahmed Bhuiyan, Senior General Manager, Advanced Networking and Cloud Business at Axentec PLC, along with other representatives.
The MoU establishes a structured framework for collaboration between the two organisations. Implementation is expected to proceed in stages as Midland Bank integrates the cloud infrastructure into its existing technology environment to support its operational and digital service requirements.
