Mirza Abbas, senior member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Standing Committee and political advisor to the Prime Minister, has been flown to Singapore via air ambulance for urgent medical treatment. The special flight departed from Dhaka at 11:20 a.m. on Sunday, 15 March, according to Abdullah Jamal Chowdhury Aditya, nephew of Mirza Abbas and senior co-president of the Dhaka Metropolitan East unit of the BNP student wing.
“On behalf of the family, we appeal to the nation to offer prayers for his swift recovery,” Mr Chowdhury stated.
Accompanying Mirza Abbas on the air ambulance were his wife, Afroza Abbas, president of the Nationalist Women’s Party, and their elder son, Mirza Yasir Abbas. The aircraft has been specially configured to accommodate medical equipment and a professional healthcare team, ensuring continuous care throughout the journey.
