Miscreants hacked a youth to death and escaped, abandoning their motorbike.

In Bogura, a man named Habibur Rahman Khokon (37) was hacked to death by unidentified assailants following a previous conflict.

The incident took place around 8:30 p.m. on Monday (October 27) in the Seujgari area of the city. Police recovered the body from the scene that night and sent it to the morgue of Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SZRMC) Hospital.

The deceased, Habibur Rahman Khokon, was the son of Kamal Hossain from the Southpara area of Maltinagar in Bogura city.

Bogura Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hasan Basir confirmed the information.

According to police sources, locals rushed to the spot after hearing screams near the ISKCON temple around 8:30 p.m. They found several unidentified men attacking Khokon with sharp weapons. He was rescued in critical condition and taken to SZRMC Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Police recovered two motorcycles from the scene — one Hero Hunk and the other a Bajaj Pulsar NS model.

As tension spread in the area following the incident, police from Bogura Sadar Station arrived and began an investigation.

OC Hasan Basir said that initial evidence suggests the killing occurred due to previous enmity. A drive is underway to identify and arrest those involved.
