After a hiatus of seven months, Bangladeshi actor Niloy Alamgir has returned to the camera, much to the delight of his fans. The hiatus began last September, when Niloy travelled to the United States with his wife, Tasnuva Tabassum.
During their stay in the U.S., Niloy became a father for the first time in November. He personally shared the joyful news on social media, announcing the arrival of their daughter, whom they have named Rushda Maimanah.
Following his return to Bangladesh on 19 February, Niloy took two days to rest before resuming work. As of last Sunday, he has begun shooting for a new television drama, the title of which has yet to be officially revealed. The drama is penned by Anamika Mondal and directed by Nazmul Roni, with filming currently taking place in Uttara, Dhaka.
Director Nazmul Roni described the project as a comedy that balances humour with social messaging. He added, “The drama has been conceived with the festive Eid audience in mind, aiming to provide laughter while reflecting societal values.”
Niloy’s co-star in the new project is Nilanjana Neela, marking a fresh on-screen pairing as they have rarely appeared together in previous works.
According to sources, Niloy will immediately proceed to shoot two additional dramas upon completing this project, where his co-star will be Jannatul Sumaiya Himi. This busy schedule underscores Niloy’s commitment to returning strongly to the small screen after his long break.
The production schedule is outlined in the following table:
