Young singer Romaisa Tariq from Lahore has secured a place among the top 16 contestants on the popular reality show ‘Pakistan Idol.’ Since participating in the show, her life has changed dramatically. In her own words, “Now, wherever I go, people recognise me. It is an amazing feeling, though sometimes it comes with amusing challenges. Pakistan Idol has added colour to my life.”
Romaisa has no formal musical training. Her musical journey began with inspiration from her sister, and with confidence and determination, she stepped onto the main stage of Pakistan Idol. She has already shown great potential and impressed the audience.
Her folk song “Loung Gawacha” became extremely popular, spreading rapidly across social media and making her a household name throughout the country.

Romaisa graduated in business studies from London University. Her rise to fame began dramatically when she discovered her song had gone viral while out with friends. She enjoys practising guitar during her free time.
Her mother mentioned that, despite coming from a conservative Pashtun family, they will not hinder her dreams. She said, “I will not let anything block my daughter’s path. I want her to grow independently and establish herself.”
Romaisa also praised the behind-the-scenes atmosphere of the show. She commented, “There is a spirit of cooperation among contestants, and the environment is very friendly.”
She is fully prepared for the upcoming episodes, with friends helping to manage voting. Beyond singing, Romaisa is active on social media and enjoys creating various videos with her friends.
