Pakistani Revolver and Ammunition Seized in Ashulia

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-4) has recovered an abandoned Pakistani-manufactured revolver and two rounds of ammunition from an under-construction washroom on the premises of a madrasa in Ashulia, Dhaka. The firearm and ammunition were seized during a drive conducted on Wednesday afternoon (17 June) at the madrasa located in the Sreepur Gonokbari area under the jurisdiction of Ashulia Police Station.

Background and Details of the Operation

According to sources within the elite force, a patrol team from the CPC-2, Navinagar Camp of RAB-4 conducted the raid based on precise intelligence. RAB initially received information suggesting that drug traffickers had stored illegal narcotics within the madrasa premises. Acting on this lead, the team initiated a thorough search of the compound, focusing on an under-construction washroom situated adjacent to the parents’ waiting room.

During the search operation, officers discovered a torn shopping bag concealed beneath several bricks on the floor of the washroom toilet. Upon closer inspection, a revolver and two rounds of .22 bore ammunition were found wrapped inside a green polythene bag within the shopping bag.

Inventory of Recovered Items

RAB officials reported that the recovered firearm is an eight-chamber cylinder revolver. The barrel, trigger, and hammer of the weapon were found to be completely intact. The phrase “Made in Pakistan” was found engraved in English on the body of the revolver. Furthermore, the letter “T” was engraved on the base of the recovered ammunition.

Item Description Quantity Distinctive Markings Operational Condition
Cylinder Revolver 1 Engraved with “Made in Pakistan” Eight-chamber; barrel, trigger, and hammer intact
Ammunition 2 rounds .22 bore; engraved with the letter “T” Fully intact

Legal Action and Investigation

Major Arman Hossein Hridoy, Company Commander of RAB-4, CPC-2, confirmed that the firearm and ammunition were recovered in an abandoned condition. He stated that a comprehensive investigation and necessary legal proceedings are underway to identify the primary source of the weapon and to apprehend the individuals responsible for bringing and concealing it inside the educational institution.

The recovered evidence has been formally transferred to Ashulia Police Station. The process of filing a formal case under the Arms Act is currently being processed.
