The 2025 Government Primary Scholarship Examination is scheduled to take place in April 2026. While the detailed timetable for the exam has yet to be released, the question paper structure, marks distribution, and full examination guidelines have already been published. The Directorate of Primary Education officially released these guidelines on their website last Tuesday.

According to the guidelines, students must adhere to ten key instructions while in the examination hall. In addition, a code of conduct for behaviour during the exam has been outlined to ensure fairness and discipline.

Exam Structure and Marks

The primary scholarship examination will cover five subjects: Bangla, English, Mathematics, Primary Science, and Bangladesh & Global Studies.

  • Bangla, English, and Mathematics: 100 marks each, duration 2 hours 30 minutes
  • Primary Science and Bangladesh & Global Studies: 50 + 50 = 100 marks, duration 2 hours 30 minutes
  • Students with special needs will be granted an additional 30 minutes for each paper.
  • To qualify for the scholarship, a student must achieve a minimum of 40% in each subject.

Types of Scholarships and Quotas

Two types of scholarships will be awarded: Talent Pool and General. Each category will select 50% boys and 50% girls. Of the total scholarships, 80% are reserved for government primary school students and 20% for private school students.

Ten Examination Hall Instructions

4The answer sheet must bear the invigilator’s signature; otherwise, it will be invalid
5Students must not write names, addresses, roll numbers, or any symbols inside or outside the answer sheet
6No extra rough paper will be provided; rough work must be done within the answer sheet and later removed properly
7Students may not write on tables, rulers, their body, or any other surfaces
8Students may not leave the hall within the first hour after distribution of question papers
9Answer sheets must be submitted to the invigilator before leaving the hall
10All other instructions issued by authorities must be strictly followed

Conduct Guidelines During the Exam

  • Students must not talk to each other in the exam hall
  • No exchange of answers via writing or other means is allowed
  • Students must not view or show others’ answer sheets or unauthorised papers
  • Leaving the hall with answer sheets without submitting to the invigilator is prohibited
  • Answer sheets must not be altered, removed, or damaged

These measures aim to ensure a disciplined, fair, and well-organised examination environment. By following these rules, students can focus on their performance while maintaining the integrity of the scholarship process.
