Persistent rain and a damp outfield delayed the toss for the Women’s World Cup final between India and South Africa in Mumbai on Sunday.
Both sides are in pursuit of their maiden title in the 50-over tournament, with a capacity crowd of 45,000 expected at the DY Patil Stadium.
Officials postponed the toss by 30 minutes to 3:00 pm (0930 GMT), with play now scheduled to begin at 3:30 pm. However, intermittent drizzle threatened to cause further delays.
India, who were runners-up in 2005 and 2017, secured their third final appearance after edging past seven-time champions Australia in a dramatic semi-final encounter.
South Africa, meanwhile, are contesting their first-ever Women’s ODI World Cup final following their victory over four-time winners England in the other semi-final.
