After a dismal batting display left the tourists reeling on the opening day, Shoriful’s exceptional figures of six wickets have completely disrupted the Australian innings.

The contest had begun in the worst possible fashion for Bangladesh, whose first innings folded for a meagre 64 runs under relentless pressure from the home side’s seamers. Facing a modest target, Australia initially stumbled to 41 for the loss of three wickets as Matt Renshaw, Travis Head, and Marnus Labuschagne departed cheaply. However, experienced batsman Steven Smith and Cameron Green temporarily steadied the ship, forging a resilient 77-run partnership to stretch the hosts’ advantage.

The complexion of the match shifted dramatically when Shoriful tore through the middle and lower order. The Australian innings suffered a steep collapse, losing five wickets for the addition of just 30 runs.
