Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor is expecting her second child, a piece of joyous news she shared on social media — and one that quickly prompted a playful reaction from her husband, businessman Anand Ahuja.
According to Indian media reports, including Anandabazar, Sonam posted a photograph on Instagram on Thursday, 20 November, wearing a pink skirt and top, showing her growing baby bump. The caption was short but heartfelt: simply, “Maa” — “Mother”.
Anand, known for his warm and humorous comments on his wife’s posts, responded in the comment section with a light-hearted remark: “This time, double trouble.”
He later added another affectionate line: “You’re such a beautiful mum.”
Sonam and Anand married in 2018 in a widely celebrated ceremony in Mumbai, attended by stars from across the film industry. Four years later, in 2022, they welcomed their first child, a son named Vayu, who is now three years old. The couple has occasionally shared glimpses of their life with him, while largely keeping him away from constant public attention.
Family sources and entertainment reporters suggest that the couple are eagerly preparing for the arrival of their second baby, expected early in the new year. Friends close to them say Sonam has been focusing on her health, spending time between London and Mumbai, and enjoying a relatively peaceful pregnancy.
The announcement has been met with warm wishes from colleagues, fans, and family members across social media. Many Bollywood celebrities have congratulated the pair, celebrating what they describe as another cherished chapter for one of the industry’s most loved couples.
Sonam, who has taken fewer film projects in recent years, has often spoken about balancing motherhood with her career — and now looks set to embrace the journey once again.
