The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to celebrate the extraordinary contributions of three of the nation’s cricketing icons with lifetime achievement awards, recognising their service, integrity, and enduring impact on Indian cricket. The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, 15 March, in Delhi, in a grand event marking the pinnacle of sporting honours.
BCCI has announced that the Cornel C. K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award—the board’s highest accolade—will be conferred upon:
Rahul Dravid – Former Indian captain and coach, widely celebrated for his leadership, discipline, and technical mastery. Dravid led the Indian team as coach to a T20 World Cup triumph in 2024, reinforcing his legacy in nurturing the next generation of cricketers.
Roger Binny – Former Indian all-rounder and ex-BCCI president, whose invaluable contributions on and off the field have left an indelible mark on Indian cricket administration and development.
Mithali Raj – Former captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, revered for her exceptional skill, longevity, and leadership, and widely regarded as one of the greatest women cricketers in history.
In addition to the lifetime achievement awards, the ceremony will honour members of five Indian teams that have won ICC trophies, recognising the collective excellence that has shaped India’s cricketing stature on the world stage.
A BCCI statement read:
“This year, Roger Binny and Rahul Dravid will be conferred with the Cornel C. K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of their outstanding service to Indian cricket. In women’s cricket, Mithali Raj will receive the same prestigious honour.”
The event promises to be a celebration not only of individual brilliance but also of India’s enduring legacy in both men’s and women’s cricket, highlighting achievements across formats and generations.
