Two Arrested and Stolen Car Recovered in Dinajpur

Dinajpur, 22nd July 2025 — In a joint operation, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) successfully arrested the ringleader of an organised crime ring along with his accomplice, recovering a stolen private car during separate raids conducted over two days in Dinajpur district.

Arrests and Seizure

The two individuals arrested were Md Nur Zaman, aged 43, from the Diabetes Mour area, and Md Fayyaz Uddin Saju, aged 35, from the West Mission Road area, both under the jurisdiction of Kotwali Police Station in Dinajpur. According to a press release issued by RAB, the operation was part of an ongoing effort to combat organised crime in the region.

The Stolen Car Incident

The incident leading to the arrests dates back to September 18, 2024, when Mohidul Islam Mission filed a complaint with Hatirjheel Police Station in Dhaka Metropolitan Police. In his complaint, Mission reported that his private car had been stolen. A case was officially registered, and investigations were launched.

RAB Operation Details

In response to the case, a team from RAB-13’s Crime Prevention Company (CPC-1), operating out of Dinajpur Camp, initiated an operation to locate the stolen vehicle and apprehend the perpetrators.

Sunday, 8:30 PM — Md Nur Zaman was arrested in the Diabetes Mour area of Dinajpur.

Monday, 4:00 PM — A follow-up raid led to the arrest of Md Fayyaz Uddin Saju from the Suihari Khalpar area, where the stolen car was also recovered.

Legal Actions and Next Steps

After the arrests and recovery of the vehicle, the two suspects were transferred to the Hatirjheel Police Station under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police for further legal action. The RAB press release confirmed that the suspects would face charges related to vehicle theft, and investigations will continue to identify any further involvement in other criminal activities.
