Unidentified Young Man Found Injured Near Dhaka Police Station Dies

In a deeply distressing incident in the capital’s Kamrangirchar area, an unidentified young man was discovered unconscious and bearing visible injury marks near a local school ground, mere yards away from a police station. Despite being rushed to hospital by concerned locals and a passing citizen, the young man tragically succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment later that evening.

The sequence of events began on Friday night at approximately 8:00 PM. The victim, whose age is estimated to be around 22 years, was found lying in a vulnerable state on one side of the playground belonging to the former Sheikh Jamal Government Secondary School. This location is situated directly opposite the Kamrangirchar Police Station. A passerby, identified as Md Nazim, first noticed the unresponsive youth while walking past the perimeter of the school ground. Recognising the gravity of the situation and the unusual circumstances of finding someone in such a state so close to law enforcement headquarters, Nazim immediately raised the alarm among local residents.

Within moments, a small group of bystanders gathered, and with their collective assistance, the severely injured youth was rescued and swiftly transported to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for emergency medical intervention. Upon arrival at the hospital’s emergency ward, on-duty physicians immediately commenced life-saving protocols and assessed his physical condition. However, the trauma and injuries sustained by the youth proved too severe. Despite the dedicated efforts of the medical team, his condition continued to deteriorate rapidly, and he was officially pronounced dead at approximately 10:00 PM while undergoing treatment.

To date, the identity of the young man remains a complete mystery, as no documents or family members have come forward. According to Md Faruk, the police inspector in charge of the DMCH police outpost, the deceased was dressed in black trousers and a half-sleeve jersey when he was brought in. Following his death, the body was moved to the hospital morgue, where it awaits a formal post-mortem examination.

Authorities have officially notified the Kamrangirchar Police Station regarding the incident. Given the stark proximity of the location where he was found to a law enforcement facility, the case has sparked considerable local concern. Police have initiated preliminary enquiries to identify the victim and determine the exact sequence of events that led to his critical condition. Investigators are working to establish whether the young man was the victim of a violent assault or if other criminal elements were involved, with the autopsy report expected to provide critical clarity on the cause of death.
