The first examination of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent assessments was held across Rangpur district in a reported copy-free environment, with 571 candidates absent on the opening day.
The examinations commenced at 10:00 am on Tuesday (21 April) and were conducted simultaneously at 84 centres across the district. Authorities confirmed that the process remained orderly throughout the day, with no incidents of malpractice or other untoward events reported at any examination venue.
According to official figures, a total of 571 candidates were absent on the first day across three categories of examinations. The breakdown shows absentees in SSC, Dakhil, and SSC vocational streams.

Senior officials from the district administration and education authorities supervised the conduct of the examinations through on-site inspections and digital monitoring systems. Visits were made to several centres, including Satgora Baitul Mokarram Kamil Madrasa, Police Lines School and College, and Collectorate School and College.
Among those present during the inspections were Mohammad Ruhul Amin and Amir Ali, alongside other administrative and education officials. Monitoring was also carried out through CCTV surveillance systems to ensure transparency and discipline across all examination centres.
To maintain the integrity of the examination process, authorities deployed five vigilance teams at the district level and appointed 20 tag officers within the metropolitan area. These officers were tasked with continuous supervision of examination activities and compliance with regulations.
Law enforcement agencies, executive magistrates, and members of the broader security apparatus were also present throughout the examination period to ensure law and order, as well as to prevent any disruption to the conduct of the tests.
Officials stated that the coordinated efforts of the district administration, education authorities, and law enforcement agencies contributed to the smooth commencement of the examination schedule. They further noted that additional monitoring measures, including CCTV coverage and on-the-ground supervision, were introduced to strengthen oversight during the examination period.
