In Bhanga Upazila, Faridpur, a truck collided with a bus early Friday morning (24 October) at the Tarail Bus Stand on the Bhanga-Dhaka Highway Expressway, resulting in two deaths and five injuries.
The deceased are identified as Mizanur Rahman Sakib (24), son of Matiar Rahman from Shalikhi Police Station in Magura, and Farzana Yasmin (30), wife of Juel Rana from Bera Police Station in Pabna.
Shibchar Highway Police Station OC Zahir Uddin stated that a “Jamuna Line” bus traveling from Dhaka to Bhanga was discharging passengers at the Tarail Bus Stand when a fast-moving truck struck the bus from behind. The impact caused the death of one man and one woman on the spot, while five passengers sustained injuries.
The police promptly reached the scene, rescued the injured, and recovered the deceased. The accident-affected bus has been removed to restore normal traffic flow. Family members of the deceased have been informed, and the handover process of the bodies will begin once they arrive.
