`Magic Bauliana’ is Back – Bringing Bangladeshi Folk Tunes to the World Stage

After much anticipation, the popular folk music reality show “Magic Bauliana” is making a comeback on Maasranga Television. The new season premieres today, October 24.

The show will air every Friday and Saturday at 9 p.m. This season’s main judges are Shafi Mondol, Partha Barua, and Nigaar Sultana Sumi. The audition round featured an extensive panel of judges, including Tuntun Baul, Pagla Bablu, Lovely Deb, Bhajan Khyapa, Sandeepan, Kamruzzaman Rabbi, Khairul Wasi, Dolly Mondol, and Diti Sarkar, among others.

Returning for its fifth season, Magic Bauliana aims to celebrate and promote Bangla Baul music among today’s generation while taking this rich cultural heritage to audiences worldwide.

With the theme “Baul Sure Dekhao Tomar Magic” (Show your magic in Baul tunes), the program is organized by Sun Foundation and sponsored by Square Toiletries Limited. Its goal is to showcase the timeless appeal of traditional Bangladeshi folk music on a global platform. This season, over 38,000 participants from across the country registered, and 40 contestants have been selected to compete in the Mega Selection Round.

These contestants will then join a grooming session where experienced mentors will guide them in singing, stage performance, and presentation skills. The competition will continue through the Master Selection and Studio Round, culminating in a grand finale.

Actress and model Aisha Khan will host the show, marking her first appearance as a television presenter. The program is produced by Moniruzzaman Khan and Zobayer Iqbal.
