In Sundarganj, Gaibandha, a police constable was caught by locals inside the house of an expatriate’s wife over allegations of an illicit relationship. The incident occurred late at night on Thursday (October 23) in South Dhumaitari village of Dahband Union.

According to local sources, Constable Md. Imrul Kayes, who serves in Rangpur Metropolitan Police and hails from Balahat village in Laxmipur Union of Gaibandha Sadar, entered the house of the wife of an expatriate living in Dhumaitari village.

Locals, noticing the situation, caught him red-handed and kept him detained throughout the night. The housewife is identified as Ms. Mousumi Akter, wife of Ershadul Haque, a Malaysian expatriate.

In the presence of local dignitaries, representatives, and villagers, the detention continued overnight, and on Friday morning (October 24), Mousumi Akter and Police Constable Imrul Kayes were married.

Residents alleged that the constable and the housewife had been in a close relationship for a long time and maintained regular contact during her husband’s absence abroad.
