The Argentina national team, led by Lionel Messi, will not play in India next month. The friendly match scheduled for 17 November at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium will now take place during FIFA’s next international window.
Anto Agustin, Managing Director of Reporter Broadcasting, shared on social media that the delay in FIFA approval led to the decision. He added that the final decision was made after discussions with the Argentine Football Association (AFA).
Since the announcement of Argentina’s India tour, there has been confusion. At one point, the Sports Minister of Kerala said the match was cancelled, but AFA confirmed in August that their team would play.
Recent reports from Argentine media indicate that the match is unlikely in November and may be held in March 2026.
