BTRC Warning

The BTRC has issued a strict warning emphasising that non-compliance will result in the automatic cancellation of excess SIM cards without any further notice. This measure aims to regulate the number of SIMs per individual and prevent misuse or fraudulent activities in the telecommunications sector.

Purpose and Implications

Regulatory Compliance: Ensures every subscriber holds a manageable number of SIM cards.

Prevent Misuse: Reduces the risk of fraudulent activities, multiple accounts, and illegal SIM usage.

Customer Empowerment: Provides clear guidance and tools for users to manage their registered SIMs.

By enforcing this policy, BTRC aims to maintain order in the mobile telecommunications sector and ensure greater accountability among subscribers and mobile operators.
