Following their One Day International (ODI) series win, the Bangladesh cricket team is set to face the visiting West Indies in a three-match T20 International (T20I) series in Chattogram. This series marks the beginning of Bangladesh’s preparation for next year’s T20 World Cup. The first match will be played on Monday, 27 October, at 6:00 PM.
Before the T20 World Cup, which will be hosted in India and Sri Lanka next year, Bangladesh will have the opportunity to play two bilateral series. After the West Indies series, the Tigers will host Ireland next month. These two series are part of Bangladesh’s strategy to fine-tune their squad and strategies ahead of the global tournament.
Bangladesh have been in excellent T20 form, having won their last four series. After victories against Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and the Netherlands, Bangladesh most recently defeated Afghanistan. With a win against the West Indies, Bangladesh aims to secure a fifth consecutive series victory.
In the recent ODI series against West Indies, Bangladesh won 2–1. After winning the first ODI, they lost the second in a Super Over, but secured the series with a record victory in the third match.
Bangladesh last won a T20I series against the West Indies in December 2024, with a 3–0 whitewash during their tour of the Caribbean. Considering their recent form and that whitewash, Bangladesh enters the series as the favourites.
A victory in the first T20I would level Bangladesh with the West Indies in their overall T20I head-to-head record. To date, the two teams have faced each other 19 times in T20Is:
| Team | Wins |
|---|---|
| Bangladesh | 8 |
| West Indies | 9 |
| Abandoned/No Result | 2 |
The Bangladesh vs West Indies T20I will be live on T-Sports. Fans can also watch online via the Tapmad platform with a subscription, allowing them to stream the match from anywhere on mobile or other devices.
