After a five-year break, Shah Rukh Khan made a grand return to Bollywood with Pathaan. He followed it up with Jawan and Dunki in 2023, gifting fans three back-to-back blockbusters. However, it’s been nearly two years since the superstar last appeared on the big screen. With his birthday just two days away, Shah Rukh spent Thursday afternoon chatting with fans on social media—where talk of his next film naturally came up.
The Siddharth Anand-directed project has already created massive excitement among fans. It is widely speculated that the film’s title is King, in which Shah Rukh will reportedly star alongside his daughter Suhana Khan. Yet a recent remark from the actor has sparked fresh confusion.
One fan asked him to share the teaser of his upcoming film King through direct message. Smiling, Shah Rukh replied, “The title hasn’t been officially announced yet, and you’re already asking for the teaser!” His response left fans wondering whether the film’s name might be changing at the last moment. Many have also requested that he reveal the title on his birthday, November 2.
During the conversation, Shah Rukh was asked about his son Aryan Khan’s Netflix series The Bads of Bollywood and what it’s like working with his daughter Suhana. He replied, “On set, I see them as colleagues. I respect their input and hard work. I just want their efforts to succeed.” About working with Suhana, he added briefly, “It feels like working with myself.”
When asked to pick his favorite between Pathaan and Jawan, Shah Rukh smiled and said, “My favorite film is always the one that hasn’t been released yet—my next one.”
Earlier this year, in January, at an event in Dubai, Shah Rukh jokingly said about his new film, “I’ve used up so many titles that I’ve run out of names! This time, in King, Shah Rukh Khan plays Shah Rukh Khan.”
Reports suggest that Abhishek Bachchan will also star in this upcoming project. Fans now eagerly await a big announcement—possibly on Shah Rukh’s 60th birthday—revealing the film’s title and release date.
