Student Advisers Sold Out July: Muntasir Mahmud

Muntasir Mahmud, a former leader of the National Citizens Party (NCP), has alleged that student advisers have sold out the July movement in Bangladesh. He claimed that hundreds of crores of takas were taken as bribes under the pretext of appointing DC-OSCs, Petrobangla officials, and MDs of Essential Drugs.

On Friday night, Muntasir Mahmud shared these details during a live session on his verified Facebook account. His live video quickly went viral on social media.

Muntasir Mahmud had served as the organizer of the southern region of the NCP, the political party of the student leaders who led the July movement. After the movement on August 5 last year, he joined the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society as Deputy Director.

Later, a group of people staged a protest at the central office in Moghbazar, accusing the Red Crescent Society of reinstating Awami League personnel, which resulted in him losing his job. Subsequently, on October 12, he was also relieved from the NCP over disciplinary violations.

Muntasir said that Akhtar Hossain played an important role in the July movement and took a strong stance against fascism, but he accepted crores of takas in bribes under the pretext of appointing PPs in courts. He also said that revealing this corruption has put his life at risk.

He reiterated that the July movement in Bangladesh was sold out by student advisers. Hundreds of crores of takas were taken under the pretext of appointing DC-OSCs, Petrobangla officials, and MDs of Essential Drugs, and all evidence exists.

Muntasir Mahmud added that he will contest the Dhaka-12 parliamentary seat with honesty. He expressed hope that Allah and the people are with him. He plans to visit every household, seek votes, and work for the public.
