In Madaripur’s Shibchar, two cattle traders were slashed and 4 lakh taka was stolen after a group of robbers attacked them on the Dhaka-Barisal expressway connection road. The incident occurred on Wednesday (19 November) at 6:00 AM near the Bandorkhola Chowrasta area on the expressway.

According to local sources, two businessmen from Pāchchar, Shibchar, were heading to Tekarhat by pickup van to buy cattle. When they reached the Bandorkhola Chowrasta area, a private car stopped in front of their vehicle. As they stopped to check the situation, four robbers in the car attacked them with machetes, injuring both businessmen. They then stole 4 lakh taka from the traders and fled quickly.

The injured traders, Rajan Mollah (60) and Alauddin Dewan (67), were admitted to Shibchar Upazila Health Complex.
