Tarique Rahman Expresses Gratitude to Chief Adviser

Tarique Rahman, the acting chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Adviser of the interim government, Professor Muhammad Yunus, for closely monitoring the health condition of his mother and the party’s Chairperson, former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

On Friday night (28 November), BNP Senior Joint Secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi released a statement highlighting Rahman’s appreciation. According to the statement, Begum Khaleda Zia remains critically ill and is currently undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.

The Chief Adviser, Professor Yunus, has publicly expressed his deep concern over the former Prime Minister’s health and has requested the nation to pray for her speedy recovery. He has personally overseen her medical progress, ensuring that all necessary support and coordination are in place to guarantee optimal care. All relevant hospital staff have been instructed to remain vigilant and prepared at all times.

Tarique Rahman commended Professor Yunus for his humanitarian and courteous approach, noting that his attention and proactive measures provide not only reassurance to the family but also a stabilising influence for the party during this challenging period. Analysts suggest that such actions by a government official demonstrate an exemplary level of non-partisan responsibility and empathy, reinforcing public confidence in both medical oversight and political civility.

Rahman’s statement underscores the importance of national leaders prioritising health and well-being over political considerations, highlighting the crucial role of ethical leadership during times of personal and national crisis.
