Pond Watchman Brutally Killed in Shibganj, Eyes Gouged Out

In Shibganj, Chapainawabganj, 65-year-old pond watchman Tujammel Haque Toju was allegedly killed with his eyes gouged out. He was a resident of Pardilalpur village, Shahabazpur Union. The incident took place near Nunia Pond by Muslimpur village.

His son, Nafiullah (25), stated that his father guarded the pond and was attacked at night. He learned about the incident in the morning and found his father dead at the scene.

The victim’s wife Nilufa Begum and daughter Sayema Khatun said the family had no enmity with anyone. Locals recovered the body.

Chapainawabganj Superintendent of Police, Gautam Kumar Biswas, said the body showed multiple injuries and the left eye had been gouged out. The body was sent for autopsy to the district hospital morgue. Authorities are investigating the case and will arrest the perpetrators soon.
