Probashi Kallyan Bank Introduces Up to 1 Million Taka Loan for Overseas Study and Training

Probashi Kallyan Bank has brought a huge opportunity to facilitate the path of employment abroad for Bangladeshi youths and to transform them into skilled human resources. The bank has announced that from now on, loan facilities ranging from 1 lakh Taka up to 10 lakh Taka will be available for studying or training abroad. The main objective of this loan is to assist participants in language education and skill development courses in countries like Japan, Germany, South Korea, Italy, and Russia. The bank’s slogan, ‘Skills are valued worldwide, knowing a language increases opportunities’, aptly highlights the importance of this initiative.

The necessity of skills for high-income jobs abroad is immense. Fahim Mashroor, Chief Executive of BDJobs, stated that although the number of graduates in the country has increased, many are working as general labourers abroad due to a lack of proper guidance. He believes that through this loan, students will be able to take advanced training abroad, which will be helpful in building their careers. The tenure of this loan can be from 2 to 5 years, and the interest rate has been set at 11 per cent, which is changeable if necessary. This facility is applicable only for short-term courses with a maximum duration of two years.

There are certain specific conditions for applying for the loan. The applicant’s age cannot exceed 40 years, and they must be a local resident. Additionally, possessing an offer letter received from the destination country and a language proficiency certificate is mandatory. In terms of loan disbursement, the bank has determined three tiers regarding collateral.

Information regarding collateral is provided in the table below:

Loan Amount Required Collateral
1 – 3 Lakh Taka No deed of land or flat will be required. One guarantor and 3 cheque leaves of their bank account must be submitted.
3 – 5 Lakh Taka Immovable property of double the value of the loan money must be shown as collateral.
5 – 10 Lakh Taka A registered mortgage must be executed in favour of the bank, and a power of attorney must be given.

To complete the application process, necessary documents must be submitted, which include 3 copies of the applicant’s photograph, NID card, passport, academic certificates, and offer letter. Alongside this, information of a qualified guarantor must also be provided. Probashi Kallyan Bank has clearly stated that no brokers or agents are needed for this loan. Interested persons can contact the bank branch directly or apply online. For any assistance, it is advised to call the helpline number 16238. It is hoped that this initiative will play an important role in eliminating unemployment in the country and increasing the flow of remittances.
