The Bogra District Police have arrested three young men in connection with the alleged group rape of a young woman. The arrests were executed during a series of coordinated law enforcement operations conducted at various locations across Bogra town throughout the night of Sunday, 17 May 2026.
The criminal incident reportedly took place after 22:30 on Sunday night in an under-construction building located in the Phulbari Dakshinpara area of the municipal town.
According to official records provided by the police administration, the three detained individuals have been formally identified. The suspects currently in custody are:
Kawsar, aged 19, the son of Rayhan, residing in the Phulbari Dakshin Hajipara locality of Bogra Sadar Upazila.
Badhon, aged 19, the son of the late Hatem Ali Paikar, a resident of the Phulbari Dakshinpara neighbourhood.
Roki, aged 19, the son of Golam Rabbani, originating from the Uttar Katnarpara sector of the same Upazila.
The formal arrests were confirmed on Monday morning, 18 May 2026, by Saiyed Ibrahim Ali, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bogra Sadar Police Station.
According to the First Information Report (FIR) lodged with the police, the victim had a prior acquaintance and friendship with the suspects. The timeline of the events leading up to the alleged assault has been documented by investigators as follows:

| 21:30 | The group formulated a plan to consume alcohol and procured spirits from a local hotel establishment within the town. |
| 22:15 | The individuals, accompanied by the victim, proceeded to an abandoned, old under-construction building located beside the Shmashanghat Road, adjacent to the Phulbari Dakshinpara Eidgah ground. At this stage, the suspect named Roki joined the group. |
| 22:30 onwards | The victim alleges that during the course of the gathering, the suspects took turns to systematically rape her inside the premises. |
| Post-Incident | The suspect Badhon attempted to escort the victim away from the site. Upon reaching the vicinity of the “Big Bazar” area, the victim shouted for help, alerting local residents. Badhon subsequently fled the scene. |
Following the victim’s public cries for assistance, local residents immediately notified the law enforcement authorities. A police contingent led by Sub-Inspector (SI) Anahar Hossain from the Phulbari Police Outpost under Bogra Sadar Police Station dispatched to the scene, rescued the victim, and arranged for her immediate medical treatment and forensic examination.
Officer-in-Charge Saiyed Ibrahim Ali stated that a regular case had been registered under the relevant sections of the law based on the victim’s formal complaint. He confirmed that three suspects were apprehended within hours of the incident, and targeted police raids remain ongoing to secure the arrest of the remaining fugitive accomplices, including Sadik. The three arrested suspects are scheduled to be forwarded to the court on Monday.
