BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is scheduled to be flown to London on Tuesday, 7 January, for advanced medical treatment. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has stated that the party anticipates the Chairperson may be taken to London on Sunday, 7 December.
According to an update posted at 10:00 am on Friday, 5 December, by the BNP Media Cell on its Facebook page, the special air ambulance sent by the Amir of Qatar has not yet arrived, causing a delay in the process of transferring Khaleda Zia to London.
Mirza Fakhrul said that due to technical issues, the air ambulance will not arrive on Friday, 5 December. He added that if everything proceeds normally, it may reach on Saturday.
The Qatar-sent air ambulance is a high-speed Airbus A-319 configured as a specialised medical aircraft. It may be described as a flying hospital, equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities.
It includes several advanced features. The aircraft carries the latest medical equipment required to manage all forms of emergency situations, including ventilators, defibrillators, monitors, infusion pumps and a range of essential emergency medicines. The special air ambulance is fitted with a full ICU facility.
All necessary provisions are available to keep a patient stable in any critical condition. The aircraft is staffed with highly trained doctors and nurses who are capable of providing appropriate medical care.
In addition, the cabin has been designed for maximum comfort, offering separate spaces for the patient and accompanying family members. This specialised air ambulance is fully self-sufficient, meaning it can meet a patient’s needs even during long-distance flights.
