Harry Kane has once again rewritten the record books in the German Bundesliga. Already a prolific scorer, the English striker reached a historic milestone on Sunday night, scoring and assisting his way to a remarkable century of Bundesliga contributions. Kane achieved this feat in just 78 appearances, smashing the previous record held by Arjen Robben, who reached the same landmark in 119 matches.
Earlier this month, Kane stunned football fans worldwide by becoming the fastest player to reach ten hat-tricks in the Bundesliga. Now, he has gone a step further, combining goals and assists to achieve 100 contributions in record time. Of these, Kane has scored 81 goals himself and set up 19 more for his teammates, demonstrating both lethal finishing and creative flair.
After Bayern Munich’s 4-0 victory over Heidenheim, Kane shared his delight on social media: “What a way to end the year. As captain on the pitch, contributing to 100 Bundesliga goals is an incredible feeling. Proud of the team!”
The match saw Bayern dominate despite missing several key players due to injuries and illnesses. With regular captain Manuel Neuer sidelined, Kane wore the armband and led the team confidently. Bayern’s goals came from Josip Stanišić and Michael Olise in the first half, followed by late strikes from Luis Díaz and Kane himself, sealing a comprehensive victory.
With this win, Bayern extends their lead at the top of the Bundesliga table, now nine points ahead of second-placed Borussia Dortmund, with a record of 13 wins and two draws in 15 matches. Kane’s form has been unstoppable this season, scoring 30 goals in 25 appearances across all competitions, further cementing his reputation as one of the most lethal forwards in Europe.
Looking ahead, Bayern will play a friendly against Red Bull Salzburg on 6 January before resuming Bundesliga action against Wolfsburg on 11 January. With Kane leading the line, the Bavarians are poised for a thrilling second half of the season.
