Brazilian prodigy Endrick, the 19-year-old forward, has temporarily parted ways with Real Madrid to join French Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais on a loan deal. Having signed for Real Madrid last year, Endrick found first-team opportunities limited in a star-studded squad featuring Vinícius Júnior, Rodrygo, and Kylian Mbappé.
In the current season, Endrick has made just three appearances for Real Madrid, totalling 99 minutes on the pitch. With the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaching, the young Brazilian saw the loan move as an opportunity to secure more regular playing time, thereby increasing his chances of earning a place in the national squad.
Under the terms of the agreement, Endrick will represent Lyon until June. The deal is a temporary loan; Lyon do not hold an option to purchase the player permanently. However, Lyon will be responsible for paying half of Endrick’s salary during his stay.
Endrick is expected to wear the number 9 jersey for Lyon. He could make his Ligue 1 debut on 3 January against AS Monaco, immediately following the winter break.
Lyon have had a mixed campaign so far. The team has played 16 league matches, securing 8 wins, and currently sits fifth in the Ligue 1 standings. The club is keen to bolster its attacking options, and Endrick’s arrival is anticipated to provide a significant boost.

Real Madrid remain confident that the loan spell will accelerate Endrick’s development, providing him with the match experience necessary to thrive at the highest level. Meanwhile, the Brazilian forward himself is eager to prove his talent on a consistent basis, balancing club commitments with his ambition of representing Brazil at the 2026 World Cup.
With expectations high, fans of both Lyon and Real Madrid will be closely watching Endrick’s progress over the coming months, anticipating that this temporary move could be a decisive step in shaping one of football’s brightest young stars.
